More backspin & better durability
Due to the special composition of our SIQ Performance Coating, the ball will stick to the club face for a millisecond longer at impact. This results in better compression and better friction of the ball. These effects lead to more backspin.
Various tests of well-known manufacturers have shown that the grooves deteriorate with every shot. This reduces the backspin by a considerable amount. Thus, wedges of other manufacturers loose performance after only a few shots.
Our SIQ Performance Coating is almost as hard as diamond. Therefore, our Wedges are much more durable and last up to 60% longer in terms of performance. Our tests show the same spin values of our Wedges do not change, even after being used for hundreds of shots.
Despite the hardness of the coating, the soft feel at impact remains untouched – after all, the coating is only half as thick as a hair.
The special feature of our coatings is the (top secret) material composition on the one hand and the demanding and complex process of establishing the connection between the golf clubs and our coatings on the other hand.
In a first step, the clubs are blasted and freed of all unwanted oxides. Thereafter, the clubhead wanders into an HVF burner that reaches 5,000 degrees Celsius and fires the particles of the Coating onto the clubface with Mach 3.5. The particles – initially individual powders – are gasified, mixed and transported into the HVF burner. Due to the extreme temperature and speed, the particles forge into the clubface and produce a uniformly rough surface. This coating does not change the characteristic of the grooves, after all, it is not even thicker than half a hair.
Our coatings would be of little value if they were not compatible with the Rules of Golf, set by the R & A of St. Andrews and the USGA. That’s why we have always made sure that our coatings comply with all international golf club and face requirements throughout the development process.
The coatings are within the guidelines of the R&A of St. Andrews and the USGA in the USA. Since our method does not change the grooves, bounces or grinds, the only relevant parameter is the roughness of the impact area of the golf club. In this regard, the Official Rules of the Golf state that the roughness of the clubface shall not exceed the guideline value of 180 micro inches (4.5 ymetres). By using the most modern measuring methods we can assure that the roughness of every single club does not exceed 4,5 ymtre.
